Joan Stickles
Joan moved to Columbia County as a child where she was fortunate enough to grow up with a view of the Catskill Mountains. This was the start of an appreciation for the natural beauty which surrounds us in the Hudson Valley.
After high school, she went to college and graduated from SUNY at Potsdam where she received a degree in elementary education. She taught fourth and fifth grades over a span of 33 years.
She presently lives in Greene County and is enjoying retirement. Retirement has given her a chance to pursue her passion - oil painting. Joan especially enjoys landscape and still life painting. In the spring and fall, she loves to paint and sketch outdoors where she tries to capture the beautiful scenery which inspired her even as a child.
